All right! You’ve gotten it together and you’re ready to make your move! This stage is fairly brutal, because you need to do all your prep work (yeah, yeah, just think of those Everest climbers checking out all their equipment, making sure their carabiners are strong and their ropes are properly coiled, getting acclimatized, and checking weather and snow conditions! Adventures are hard work!) This is where you do your assessment(s) and decide on your plan of action.

Now that we know who you are, it’s time to get started on your adventure prep! Here’s where you start in on the real ‘down and dirty’ background investigation ... get out those maps, it’s time to choose a path! You can choose from three main categories:

There are a number of adventure options in each of these categories. To find which path will best suit you and your school, click on the options and start exploring. The COOL INFO for each category will give you some basic information on the subject, and will lead you to more specific information on the different adventure options for that category.

Climbing Sirdar, Sherpa, and Guide ... When you’ve found a path that seems interesting, click on the ASSESSMENTS. Your group can use these assessments to find out how green YOUR school really is, and whether this is an area where you could make a big eco-difference! Once you’ve collected the information, it will be up to the Diarist and Logistics Officer to break down the information into a concise report.

Expedition Liaison... Now would be a great time to talk to the Principal and Custodian. Let them know all about your group, and what you plan to do. You will need to present your findings to them in Second Camp (the audits, pricing sheets, timelines, and action plan) and get their signed approval. These signed ‘visas’ will need to be faxed in to us at DC!

Ready to move on? Once you have chosen a path and have completed your assessments, click on the PROCEED TO SECOND CAMP button to keep going! And remember if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us! We’re here to help!
